Sierra Club
At the end of this year I am trying to assess what good has come in our world and how these things have had an impact on our environment. I am reading the new issue of the Siera Club's magazine (J/F 08) where one interesting article about how a past president of the Sierra Club Adam Werbach is now consulting for Walmart and how this fact is kind of an eye catcher because in the past Werbach refered to Walmart as a urban virus. Now things are different as this the biggest retail store in the world has become interested in the environment and this is one of the most possitive things that can happen as the impact that a huge company such as Walmart with total yearly sales of over $351 billion dollars is difficult to match. Any action as small as a few percent say a 5% saving in waste will have a tremendous impact on the world. More so because Walmart has business in over 13 countries and more than 130 million customers each week will be affectede and encouraged to adopt sustainable practices.
